Hodgson has been manufacturing putty for the glazing market since the late 1960’s and throughout the past 40 years has become the largest manufacturer of putty in Europe. 

The Hodgson Phoenix® brand continues to lead the market, with a wide coverage across glass shop trade counters throughout the UK & Ireland. Hodgson distributes throughout Europe under private label.

There is still a range of putties to choose from depending upon the application.

  • Phoenix® Multipurpose Putty -  bedding and fronting single glass into primed timber and steel frames, which will subsequently be painted.
  • Phoenix® Linseed Oil Putty -  bedding and external fronting single glass into primed softwood frames which will subsequently be painted. 
  • Phoenix® Butyl 66 Glazing Compound - non-setting compound for bead glazing into sealed timber and steel frames.
  • Phoenix® Colourglaze – setting compound for bedding and fronting single glass into painted steel and microporous coated softwood and hardwood.
  • Phoenix® Rapid Set Putty - Provides a good set in a short period of time. Used in schools and similar environments.
